Industrial Designer Marc Newson may not be a familiar name in Australian households however, his design scope can be seen in a wide variety of areas. He has created everything from furniture and household objects to bicycles and cars, private and commercial aircraft design, yachts, various architectural commissions, jewellery and clothing and signature sculptural pieces for clients across the globe.

One of Marc’s most distinctive works is his three legged aluminium Lockheed Lounge. The Lockheed Lounge production was limited to 10. Four of the lounges are in public collections: in the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney,

The National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, the Vitra Design Museum in Germany and in The Carnegie Mansion in New York. In 2015, one of the Lounge’s was sold at auction in London raising a record sale price of £2,434,500. Newson recently joined technology giant Apple and has been involved in the company’s smart watch design.
